You are in charge of your entire unit’s wardrobe. This is not a drill. This is your task. With all the merchandise out there, it’s tempting to just go for what is cheapest. Your supervisor will be pleased that you had managed to cut costs.

However, this is men and women’s lives out there that they are risking. They need tactical gear that is top notch. This means buying the tactical helmets, tactical pants, and tactical vests that will keep them the safest. We all want people to return home to their families at the end of the day.

Your job is vital to the health of your entire unit. You need to educate yourself about what constitutes good gear. You can take price into consideration as well, as every organization has a budget. You certainly don’t want to feel like you are being ripped off, and part of your job is also to stay in budget. You are the person who has quite the task on hand.

Finding yourself in the thick of it can mean that you are feeling overwhelmed. Try to weed out your objectives before you begin your search. You can look on tactical websites to get an idea about what other people are wearing. Perhaps your unit already has a supplier and just want you to see if you can go with another manufacturer.

Whatever you need to learn, you are more than equipped to educate yourself. Think of yourself as an advocate for the people you serve. You will want them to feel comfortable during the day. You also want them to be protected from any attacks.

Look for new innovations that will be an advantage to your unit. There is a lot cropping up in the business world, so take your time in exploring what’s out there
